Cherilus, who was a first-round draft pick in 2008, played his early career with the Detroit Lions before moving on to the Indianapolis Colts in 2013. His five-year, $35 million contract with the Colts made him the highest-paid right tackle in the league at the time. However, his stint with Indianapolis lasted only two seasons, and he eventually played his final two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring in 2017.
The arrest marks a controversial moment for Cherilus, whose NFL career once showed significant promise. His actions on the flight have led to widespread media coverage and scrutiny, adding to the challenges faced by the league in recent years.
