Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance (OH) took the opportunity to challenge Democrat vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris on Tuesday during a dramatic standoff on a Wisconsin runway where both occupied the same location.

As Harris was onboard Air Force Two, Vance approached and remarked, “I just wanted to check out my future plane,” according to Shelby Talcott of Semafor. Vance expressed his desire to confront Harris directly, stating he wanted to “say hello to the vice president and ask her why she refuses to answer questions.”

It remains unclear whether Harris stayed on her jet or managed to avoid Vance’s attempt to speak with her.

Following the incident, Vance tweeted, “I thought the reporters traveling with Kamala might be a little lonely given that she never answers questions from them, so I figured I’d come say hello and check out my new plane while I was at it.”

Since assuming the top position on the Democrat ticket, Harris has not held a press conference or engaged with reporters, a stark contrast to Republican presidential nominee former President Donald Trump and Vance, who continue to engage with the press and hold rallies across the country.
