Disturbing new reports are coming out stating that Prince Philip is “not particularly well” as he remains in self isolation with Queen Elizabeth due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The U.K. Express reported that on the latest episode of the podcast Royal Rota, royal experts Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson discussed reports stating that the 98-year-old Philip is “frail.”

“It’s very rare to get a message from the Duke of Edinburgh. We know he retired in August 2017 and since then he has been very quiet and kept out of the public spotlight,” Robinson said. “We’ve seen him on occasion at big family gatherings but we haven’t had any messages from him.”

“Also amid all the reports that he hasn’t been particularly well and that he’s 98 years old, he’ll be 99 in the summer, and he’s currently at Windsor with the Queen,” Ship added. “It was clear that he’s recognizing what’s going on, however frail he might be as you would expect people to be at 98.”

He went on to discuss the statement that Philip released earlier in the week. “He wanted to recognize the vital work being done by so many in this pandemic, he said. Both the medical and scientific professions, which is something that’s been a passion of his for so many years,” Ship continued: “Then he went through a list which I thought was quite interesting. It wasn’t just a list of NHS frontline staff, although he did mention them. He said the staff and volunteers working in food production, those keeping the postal and delivery services going.”

“He ends his message with ‘and those insuring the rubbish continues to be collected,'” he concluded. “I just thought it was a very interesting and quite detailed list of who he wanted to thank.”

Given the advanced ages of Philip and the Queen, who just turned 94, they would be considered to be at high risk for complications were they to come down with coronavirus. Their safety is paramount amidst this pandemic that has killed hundreds of thousands of people all over the world, which is why the couple has been in self isolation for weeks now at Windsor Castle.

We hope that Philip’s reasons for being “frail” have nothing to do with COVID-19, and we pray that he and the queen are able to maintain their health throughout this crisis!
