Getting engaged is one of the most memorable and beloved moments of a person's life, so what better way to remember this moment than with a pendant that is carved to commemorate the exact moment when your loved one got down on one knee to propose? At least, that's what one mother-in-law was thinking when her son became engaged, but her well-intentioned gift ended up backfiring on her in a big way.

When the couple below received the carving as a gift from their mother-in-law, they were left speechless by a VERY awkward design flaw.

As you can tell by the actual photograph of the engagement, the mother-in-law had only good intentions when she had the carving she created. Unfortunately for her, however, the placement of the would-be groom's hand could not be any more awkward...

The side-by-side images of the photo and the carving have gone viral, with internet users everywhere getting a big kick out of it.

"Well, this is unfortunate," one social media user commented, with another adding, "I didn't see it at first but omg."
