Tim Tebow, former NFL quarterback, has a passion for philanthropy. He was born in the Philippines where his parents worked as Baptist missionaries for over 30 years.

Tim was just a teenager when he went on his very first mission trip to a remote island where he met a little boy named Sherwin.

The Filipino boy had a leg deformity that kept him from doing things other boys do every day.

This meeting led Tim to start the Tim Tebow Foundation.

The organization serves those individuals that don't have the means to receive aid and care that they desperately need, just like Sherwin.

So when a little boy named Aldrin walked into the Tebow CURE Hospital in the Philippines, he had come to the right place.

The 11-year-old boy suffered from a leg deformity too.

Tim immediately thought of his old friend Sherwin.

Aldrin was born with a congenital knee dislocation that caused his knees to bend in the wrong direction, just like a flamingo.

He lived in pain and could barely tolerate standing up. Not to mention he was the target of relentless bullying. Aldrin felt like he had no purpose in life.

Tim knew exactly what he needed to do. He had the medical team at the Tebow CURE Hospital put together a plan for Aldrin, and after a four-hour surgery, Aldrin had underwent a transformation that no one thought would ever be possible.
