Trump Charges That Joe Biden Is ‘Not Playing with a Full Deck’

Gaffe-prone former vice president, in return, tried to blast the commander-in-chief while in Iowa — but the effort fell flat

“This is not somebody you can have as your president — but if he got the [Democratic] nomination I’d be thrilled,” added Trump.

Just the night before, Biden said during a campaign speech in Iowa — in a clip that’s been widely played and reported since then — “We should challenge these students. We should challenge students in these schools to have advanced placement programs in these schools.” His comments were about the need to improve America’s education system.

Then he said, “We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor, you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”

Biden quickly attempted to clarify those remarks by adding “wealthy kids, black kids, Asian kids” to the end of his statement.

But by then the damage was done — and video clips of his earlier comment were already widely circulating.

Biden, for his part, has been ripping into the president during his Iowa campaign stops, even referring to “white supremacy” and “white nationalism” in describing the president and his politics.

Reminder to all that the next presidential election isn’t until November 2020 — but here we, in early August, already in the thick of the political campaign season (and so much more).
