Most of us spend the majority of our waking hours working to make a living.

And so we think nothing about the idea that we should dictate our spending habits, because, after all — isn’t that living the American dream?

However, without a vision greater than our own, we may be using our resources in ways that keep our dreams small.

King David offered us the true perspective on riches: “Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding. O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a house for your holy name comes from your hand and is all your own” (1 Chronicles 29‬‬).

When we live in the knowledge of God, we understand that everything belongs to Him.

We’re good with that — because when we experience Him, we see Him managing our resources better than we do.

God is so powerful that He flawlessly runs the entire universe. He’s so efficient that, while He does it all, He still has time to love each of us.

God’s imagination reaches far beyond our greatest dream.

His imagination is evident all around us — right down to the billions who walk this planet with us.

As I’ve divorced myself from the mindset of giving God just 10 percent and become committed to giving Him 100 percent, He has exploded inside my creative conscious in ways that exceed even the fairy tale existence I imagined as a little girl.

What does this look like?

He is constantly filling my mind with encouraging ideas to share, ways to give, and things to do which direct me on a path of peace and blessing far greater than pursuing what I thought was the best of the best money can buy.

His imagination is evident all around us — right down to the billions who walk this planet with us.

Even in the hate and chaos that often batters attorneys into being complete cynics, I see Him setting me on a course of satisfaction, peace and hope for myself, my staff and my clients.

It’s unbelievable.

It begins with my heart — giving it all to Him. After He made my Spirit alive and secured my eternal salvation, I just didn’t know that the blessings don’t have to stop there.

As I daily renew my heart within His, the desire grows within me to give Him 100 percent of everything I am and everything I own.

Why? Because I see that greatness, power, glory and victory belong to Him.

God’s imagination for our lives exceeds our greatest dreams for ourselves.
