3). Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee. Davis and Dee actually starred together in such popular films as “Do the Right Thing” and “Jungle Fever.”
They were married from 1948 to 2005, when Ossie Davis passed away at 83 years old. The two met during the production of a 1946 play called “Jeb” in New York City. Davis was an actor; Dee, an understudy. They married two years later and had three children.

Dee passed away in 2014 at the age of 91. She was cremated — and her ashes put into an urn with her husband’s. The urn was inscribed with the words, “In this thing together.”
