2). Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. The two successful actors (pictured at the top of this article) were married for 50 years. From 1958 to 2008, their love burned bright. The two famously lived far from the craziness of Hollywood, which may have worked to their advantage. They bought a home in Connecticut and raised three daughters there.

The two never gave up their careers, though. Both remained busy and became two of the most popular and in-demand actors over the decades.

Newman was actually already married and the father of two children when he met Woodward on a movie set in New York City, but he fell head over heels for her. The two remained married until Newman’s passing in 2008 at age 83.

“Somebody once said, ‘What is your relationship based on?’ and I said, ‘He’s very good-looking and very sexy and all of those things, but all that goes out the window finally, and what … is left is if you can make somebody laugh, and that’s very important,'” said Woodward in a 2002 interview on “The Today Show.”
