Joe Biden, “Parks and Recreation” (2015). Just plain awkward. Biden likely only agreed to this cameo as it was a minute’s worth of work — and a lot of fawning over him. The former vice president also cameoed on the increasingly left-leaning “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.”
This cameo was just one more example of how many people in Hollywood tried to make the Obama administration appear “cool” by featuring various figures on shows that appealed heavily to young people. To be fair, “Parks and Recreation” did contain many other cameos from politicians over the course of its seven seasons.
