Well this is uncomfortable.
While announcing the Best Supporting Actress nominees for the 2013 Academy Awards, comedian Seth MacFarlane made a pretty disturbing joke about Harvey Weinstein — possibly proving that many in Hollywood knew about his penchant for sexual harassment and assault long before it was exposed this year.
After reading the five actresses names who were nominated, MacFarlane said this:
“Congratulations, you five ladies no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein.”
In the video, viewers can hear the audience hesitantly laugh and grimace at the same time — an overall awkward moment which feels much more poignant knowing what we know now. Check it out above.
