On Monday night, Tucker Carlson welcomed to his show Jim Rigby, a pastor who is training members of his congregation to resist American immigration laws.

Carlson opened the conversation by asking “who has the moral right to come to the United States” — even asking the pastor what is “the rule that Christians like me should abide by” when it comes to following American law.

Rigby, who was arrested earlier this year for trespassing while protesting a Texas law that cracks down on sanctuary cities, appealed to human emotion with his argument — but Carlson wasn’t buying it.

Even so, watch the clip above to see why even Tucker says he is “more sympathetic than I thought I’d be” to Rigby’s case.
