Liberal MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews welcomed Richard Ben-Veniste to his show “Hardball” Wednesday night to discuss Democrats’ calls for impeachment against President Trump.
Ben-Veniste rose to prominence as a special prosecutor during Richard Nixon’s Watergate scandal, and Matthews giddily asked him what needs to be done to impeach President Trump.
The attorney tells Matthews multiple times that Trump is not near the point of impeachment, and that Matthews is “getting ahead of” himself pushing for that to happen. The liberal host keeps pushing him on it though, trying to goad Ben-Veniste into saying something that would lay grounds for Trump’s impeachment. Watch the clip above.
