Former president Jimmy Carter surprised many fans Monday when he admitted that he voted for Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic Primary.
Carter and Sanders were speaking about human rights issues at the Carter Center in Atlanta when Sanders said we need to be “honest about the real problems [people] face, and come up with real solutions.”
That’s when Carter gushed, “Do you all see why I voted for him?”
