Clinton State Department IT official Bryan Pagliano invoked his Fifth Amendment rights “approximately 128 times” during a deposition with Judicial Watch regarding Clinton’s unauthorized server, a Judicial Watch source told LifeZette.

“[Today marks] a sad day for government transparency,” Chris Farrell, director of Investigations and Research at Judicial Watch, said in a statement to LifeZette.

Farrell said the conservative watchdog group “asked all of our questions on the record” in a deposition that “lasted approximately 90 minutes” with the IT expert — who reportedly serviced and maintained Clinton’s private email system during her tenure as secretary of state.

U.S District Court Judge Sullivan granted “discovery” to Judicial Watch last month, allowing the organization to investigate the former secretary of state’s email system.

“The whole reason why Judge Sullivan granted us discovery was to make this case about the public’s right to know — and this is an exercise in exactly the opposite,” Farrell said.

The Justice Department granted Pagliano immunity a few months back after he refused to testify before Senate committees investigating Clinton’s email setup.

Sullivan authorized Judicial Watch to videotape Pagliano’s questions, though “the video recording will be kept under court seal for now.”

Farrell said the group will release a formal statement Wednesday afternoon and expects the transcription to be released Friday with no “editing or redacting.”
