In what seems like a sign from above, 49 birds were seen flying over a memorial to the Orlando shooting victims as their 49 names were being read. A photographer noticed the flock flying over head and captured the moment in a photo, according to CNN.

It wasn’t until she counted the birds in the photo that she realized the number of those flying above was the same as the victims being laid to rest.

“I then showed everyone around me and had them count,” the photographer said. “We were all stunned.”

The candlelight vigil was held Monday at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. Painful sobs were audible in the audience as the names were being read, the photographer said.

“Seeing the birds made me feel a sense of peace about the tragedy,” she said.

About 60 miles away, at a separate vigil in Lakeland, Florida, 49 doves were released.
