The GOP convention kicked off with some star power Monday night — aside from Rudy Guiliani and Melania Trump.

Scott Baio, the longtime actor known primarily for the TV show “Joanie Loves Chachi,” proudly took the stage for the Republican National Convention theme of the night: “Making America Safe Again.”

“Is Donald Trump a messiah? No, he’s just a man, a man who wants to give back to his country, America, the country that has given him everything,” said Baio.

Baio, 55, first thanked America’s veterans, then he thanked Donald Trump for the invitation to speak.

“I can’t tell you how much of an honor it is to stand up here and talk about a man that I trust with the lives of my family and the health of our country. America: The greatest country God ever created.”

He urged first-time voters to understand what it means to be an American. “It doesn’t mean getting free stuff.  It means sacrificing. Winning. Losing. Failing. Succeeding. And sometimes doing the things you don’t want to do — including the hard work — in order to get where you want to be. And that’s what it means to be an American.”

But Baio warned that the nation is currently “in a very bad spot.”

He said, “You can feel it and you can see it everywhere. There’s no stability, nothing seems right, and all the things that we hold dear are being attacked every single day. We cannot go down this road any more. We need to stop.”

“We need Donald Trump to fix this,” said Baio. “Is Donald Trump a messiah? No, he’s just a man, a man who wants to give back to his country, America, the country that has given him everything,” he added.

“Hillary Clinton wants to be president for Hillary Clinton. Donald Trump wants to be president for all of us.”

Antonio Sabato, Jr., an actor, former underwear model, and reality show star, also spoke Monday night.

Describing himself as “not your typical convention speaker,” the “General Hospital” star, who also did stints on “Dancing With the Stars” and the VH1 dating series “My Antonio” — said his “belief in this country” and his “faith in Jesus Christ” compelled him to talk.

“Our rights have been trampled and our security threatened,” he said, and America is “weaker by almost every measure” right now.

“Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton promote division. Don’t be fooled. Donald Trump is for unity. Donald Trump believes in one America with liberty and justice for all.”

Sabato Jr. ended his talk by saying it’s the duty of government to “secure borders and protect citizens,” adding that “none of this is hateful. This is the responsibility of the government. And it’s the right thing to do!”

Trump will “get us back on the right track.”

After his speech, in an interview with ABC News, Sabato Jr. said he “absolutely” believes President Obama is a Muslim. “I don’t believe he follows the God that I love, the Jesus that I love.”

Sabato said he’s “seen this country take a bad turn” under Obama’s leadership.

“This guy made it really hard for me to support him,” he said about Obama. “I believe he’s on the other side — the Middle East,” he told ABC News. “He’s with the bad guys. He’s not with us. He’s not with this country.”

And he added, Hillary is “worse than he is.”

Sabato Jr. said that he was not afraid to support Trump in liberal Hollywood, and didn’t care if people judge him. “So be it,” he said.
