Establishment Democrats and Republicans would have us believe that nominating Donald Trump for president would set the GOP back decades with Hispanic voters.

Maybe they should talk to more actual Hispanic voters.

“I’m worried that the Hispanic community would look at Mr. Trump as somebody who’s going to deport their entire family, that the grandchildren of an illegal immigrant, their grandmother — you’re not going to get their vote,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Clearly, though, Graham has never met Lisa from South Carolina. Lisa is a Guatemalan immigrant who called into “The Laura Ingraham Show” on Thursday morning. “I can’t understand” why people still listen to Hillary Clinton and Gov. John Kasich, she said with frustration.

“People who understand the laws of the United States and came here legally — we understand why Trump is so appealing,” she continued. “People who never learn about the laws of United States and come here illegally and they break all the laws, they think that’s the way it is and they don’t mind [continuing to break] the laws. And that’s the reason they support the Democrats, because they are the lawbreakers.”

Lisa was calling to comment on a segment from the “Hannity Show” Wednesday night in which Sean Hannity sparred with Jorge Ramos, who is pro-mass immigration. Ramos repeated his signature Trump-hates-Latinos mantra, but Lisa was having none of it.

“I’m just very upset about the statement of Jorge Ramos, and I was wondering if he came here legally or illegally, because in my opinion people who come here legally, they understand the laws of United States and respect them,” she said.

Another caller, Maria from Texas, co-founder of a group called America First Latinos, also lamented Ramos’ attempt to turn the immigration debate into a race issue.

“I just want to say that as a Latino … we stand for the rule of law, so we need to be standing up and speaking out right away,” she said. “These other Ramos-type people do not represent us and we have nothing in common with them. We want our laws upheld in place, Americans first here, in our own country.”

Former RNC Chair Michael Steele thinks it “doesn’t really matter if we win this November. We’ll just get past this and focus on rebuilding and rebranding the party.”

And Gov. John Kasich asserted, “Neither Cruz nor Trump can win the general election because they do not appeal to a wide enough voter base.”

So what does Lisa have to say about such assertions? “Well, I voted for Trump,” she told Ingraham.
