Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump boasts a slim 3-point lead in Florida with 95 percent of precincts reporting — but he’s already beaten President Obama’s 2012 performance.

Obama beat Republican nominee Mitt Romney in 2012 with 4,235,270 votes.

Romney won 4,162,081 votes, according to The New York Times.

So while it’s unclear who won Florida now — 6 percent of precincts are still out — Trump can say he beat Obama in the Sunshine State.

That’s because Trump, as of 9:40 p.m. election night, has 4,526,257 votes. He has such a strong vote total that he is leading Hillary Clinton by 138,000 votes.

Turnout was notably higher in the Sunshine State in the 2016 contest than in 2012.
