The nation’s largest taxpayer-funded abortion provider is circling the wagons and hunkering down a day after a shocking video emerged showing a senior director detailing a price list for fetal body parts to a pair pro-life activists posing as buyers from a biotech firm.

“Planned Parenthood is extremely terrified right now because they receive every day over $1.4 million in taxpayer dollars, over half a billion a year. They’re a billion-dollar corporation. They’re the biggest abortion chain. They have a lot to lose,” Lila Rose, president of Live Action, said in an interview on The Laura Ingraham Show.

“They’re trying to do everything they can to shut this story down,” she said.

Rose, who has closely monitored the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) at her nonprofit, called the video “the greatest cover-up that we have seen in this country, I believe, in recent times.”

The 8:51 edited video, released by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), shows Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services at PPFA, discussing a list of available body parts for sale from aborted fetuses.

“We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact,” she tells the prospective buyers.

“I’d say a lot of people want liver,” she says between bites of salad and sips of red wine. “And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps.”

In many cases, the fetus is rotated within the uterus so it can be delivered breech (feet first), the same gruesome technique used when doctors performed partial birth abortions. In that now outlawed procedure, the fetus is delivered up to its head, which is then punctured and collapsed and the skulls contents suctioned out, leaving the organs intact.

“Groups like Stem Express, an actual tissue procurement [company], which is a euphemism that they use to cover up what they do, is registered as a for-profit in the state of California… They can purchase and then be a middleman to sell or to give to whomever might be purchasing it because they have a government grant at a university. And they want different body parts, and then they ultimately make a profit off that and then kick back, of course, some of that profit to the abortion clinic. Planned Parenthood, off course, is one of the front lines,” Rose said.

CMP’s David Daleiden of Stem Express called it “one of the major purchasers of Planned Parenthood’s aborted fetal tissue.”

“This flyer advertises 4 different times the financial benefit that Planned Parenthood clinics can receive from supplying fetal tissue, with the words: ‘Financially Profitable,’ ‘Financial Profits,’ ‘financial benefit to your clinic,’ ‘fiscal growth of your own clinic,'” he wrote.

On Wednesday and again on Thursday morning, the Stem Express website was not working: A message said “Maintenance mode is on. Website will be available soon.”

The body parts scandal is just in its earliest stages. Republicans on Capitol Hill are calling for investigations, and at least one Republican presidential candidate is demanding answers for the expenditure of U.S. taxpayer dollars.

“This is absolutely horrifying and disgusting. Planned Parenthood and the Democrats who vote to fund this organization owe the American people an explanation for these heinous, and possibly illegal, actions,” Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin said in a statement.

Calls are now emerging for Attorney General Loretta Lynch to open a Justice Department probe into the matter. Selling body parts is a federal felony punishable by 10 years and jail and up to a $500,000 fine for each offense. But it is unclear if Lynch, who admitted in her Senate confirmation hearing this year that she supports partial-birth abortion and signed on to the PPFA brief defending the procedure, will do so.

“We have people at the highest places, including the president himself, who is in the bag of the abortion industry,” Rose said on The Laura Ingraham Show.

Mainstream media outlets made great efforts to downplay the story. “No, Planned Parenthood Is Not Selling Aborted Fetal Body Parts,” Gawker wrote, saying that federal law allows for compensation for delivery of “tissue.” Others complained that the eight-minute video was edited down from a two-hour long tape. But Rose said that’s all “deflection.”

“Sure, it’s edited, like any news report would be,” she said in a separate interview today. “But you watch the full version. It’s even worse. And you can watch it, it’s been released.”

For the record, ABC and CBS news programs skipped the story on Tuesday. NBC News devoted 39 seconds to the story.
