In an interview set to air on Fox News next Sunday, Clinton supporter George Clooney expressed bewilderment at the fact that, given his opposition to Trump, he is now on the “same side” as leading neoconservatives.

“It’s a very funny thing — odd for me to be on the same side of an issue as Bill Kristol and Charles Krauthammer and George Will and people like that,” Clooney told Chris Wallace. “And usually we’re not on the same side.”

“It’s a very funny thing, odd for me to be on the same side of an issue as Bill Kristol.”

One can only assume that Clooney’s usual political separation from those like Kristol is due to their constant warmongering, support for an American empire, and their belief that democracy can be planted with bombs in inherently undemocratic societies.

Someone should tell Clooney that when it comes to foreign policy, Clinton, Kristol, and Will are on the same team.

Back in 2014, Robert Kagan, another leading neocon, told The New York Times that he is “comfortable with [Clinton] on foreign policy.” He said her worldview is “something that might have been called neocon.”

Kristol’s buddy Max Boot, perhaps even more hawkish than Kristol himself, wrote that “Clinton would be far preferable to Trump.” He described her as “a centrist Democrat who is more hawkish than President Obama.”

It’s not hard to see why.

When her husband was in office, Hillary was an eager supporter of the United States proxy war in Bosnia. When she was a senator, she voted for the Iraq War. When she was secretary of state, she was an ardent supporter of intervention in Libya. When the situation in Syria began to deteriorate rapidly, she called for supporting the “hard men with the guns” — support for which ISIS is still grateful.

Clinton is not among the anti-war variety of bleeding-heart liberal, yet thousands of her supporters, George Clooney included, have somehow been hoodwinked over the last few years into believing she is the female version of Barack Obama. If Clooney truly thinks it’s odd for him to be on the same side as Kristol, he should pause and consider the fact that Clinton herself has been consistently on the same side of those like Kristol.
