The atrocities of the abortion industry — and increasingly, of those making a financial profit off the fetal tissue that has resulted from it – have now reached inhuman levels.

The University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Center (HSC) has admitted that students “dissected … one or two fetal brains” during a summer program there. A video has surfaced with that confirmation from Dr. Paul Roth, who is chancellor of the HSC and is also dean of the medical school.

The head of the New Mexico Alliance for Life (NMAFL), Elisa Martinez, corroborated the authenticity of the video.

“NMAFL found out that [a] UNM HSC meeting would be addressing … the disposition of fetal tissue, presented by Vice Chancellor of Research Dr. Richard Larson,” Martinez said in an email. “Marcie May, a staffer for NMAFL, confronted Dr. Roth about something Richard Larson said during the public meeting.”

In the video, Dr. Roth says almost casually, “Yes, we had a faculty member who obtained some tissue, and during one of these summer workshops, uh, dissected I think one or two fetal brains.”

Members of the university apparently have a close relationship with a local late-term abortion provider, Curtis Boyd, owner of Southwestern Women’s Options. Boyd has also been a visiting faculty member at the university. The relationship between the Boyd and the university has been under investigation by the House Committee on the Transfer of Fetal Tissue and Related Matters — when the committee released its interim update in July, The University of New Mexico’s relationship with Boyd and his abortion clinic were discussed in seven of the 86 pages.

The committee recently announced it will be pursuing criminal charges against the school.

This new video could provide clearer insight into whether or not the relationship is a violation of federal law as well as the Jonathan Spradling Uniform Anatomical Gift Act, a New Mexico law that prohibits the donation of aborted fetuses for research purposes.

Many people are up in arms: As a public institution, The University of New Mexico is taxpayer-funded. But the issue clearly goes deeper than that.

We have reached the point where not only does abortion not scandalize in today’s society, but a complete disrespect for humanity — even after death — goes unquestioned. Students at a summer workshop of a public university in the United States of America dissected aborted human beings — and those in leadership roles at the school allowed it, supported it, and unapologetically admitted it on camera.

“It is beyond my comprehension that any of the university’s leadership would have thought this was acceptable.”

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), who is chairman of the House Committee investigating this issue, told The Stream: “It is beyond my comprehension that any of the university’s leadership would have thought this was an acceptable practice. How could anyone with an ounce of compassion and respect come to a decision that having students dissect baby brains was a moral and acceptable activity?”

The president of Students for Life of America, Kristan Hawkins, also commented on this horrific story to the Stream.

“It confirms our worst suspicions that the fetal tissue for-profit industry goes far deeper than anyone could guess,” said Hawkins.

“This operation should have been shut down long ago. We urge New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas to investigate and prosecute UNM and the Southwestern Women’s Center for engaging in activity that is not only grossly immoral, but elevates them to the status of active criminals.”
