There is no doubt a great deal of good work is accomplished on faith-based mission trips of all kinds — and that many groups and individuals have their hearts (and souls) in the right place when they undertake such endeavors.

It’s also quite possible some millennials view a mission trip as “all about me.”

While most service trips are productive and helpful, the social media generation can tend to obsess more about great pictures for their Instagram account than anything else.

John Crist, a Los Angeles-based comedian whose father was a pastor, often makes fun and funny videos about Christian topics — and this week he took on the subject of mission trips. You won’t want to miss his line, “Does everyone have their passports?” (yelled out more than once) — and the vacation-like schedule and atmosphere he discusses in this routine.
