President Donald Trump held a rally in Minnesota last night.
And a surprise attendee has led to a whirlwind of controversy on the Left.
The Boston Celtics legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Kevin McHale (shown above left), a Minnesota native, was spotted at the event with his wife, Lynn.
Certainly, it goes without saying that leftists were furious that a guy who hasn’t played professional basketball in 25 years might have some different political opinions than they do.
Kevin McHale is extremely stupid for attending a public Trump event. That, as much as his politics, is why he should never work in the NBA again

I’d love to get definitive confirmation. But if Kevin McHale actually showed up to Trump’s rally in Duluth today with everything that is happening now and what Trump’s done and stands for, yeah he’s cancelled. pic.twitter.com/A99QSV56s4

Being a Laker fan, Kevin McHale being a Trump supporter makes complete sense to me

If you're looking for a different Kevin McHale to support, one who most definitely would never attend a Trump rally or align himself with racists, etc., I'm still here. ?

Here's what we know:
Donald Trump is a vile racist.
Kevin McHale attended a Trump 'hate rally' in Duluth.
Draw your own conclusions about the character of Kevin McHale.

Prior to this (and even now), there was no public information on McHale’s political views because he — unlike so many pro athletes today — has never mentioned them.
All that people know is that he attended a rally to hear the sitting U.S. president speak.
Yet his own wife was harassed on Twitter last night for her support.

As for McHale, though, people seem to be making a lot of assumptions about him.
And if McHale does like President Trump and his policies, so what? Is he not allowed to have a private opinion? Why does it matter to the public what he thinks of the president and his policies?
The majority of Americans have political opinions, and they are entitled to have those beliefs. The problem when it comes to many celebrities is that they preach hate toward those who disagree with them and then try to tell others how to live.
That’s not what McHale was doing at all. Few would’ve known he was at the rally if he weren’t spotted on television by someone watching exceptionally close.
If people on the Left want to be thought of as tolerant, maybe they should start by tolerating people who might have different opinions than they do.
