John Oliver Tries to Troll the Pence Family — and Fails

“When they go low, we go high.”

It’s a mantra some conservatives have been repeating on social media in the face of leftists’ consistent attacks full of vile and personal insults.

Charlotte Pence, the 24-year-old daughter of Vice President Mike Pence, avoided stooping to a low when she revealed on Wednesday that she’d purchased a copy of John Oliver’s “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo,” a spoof children’s book by the late-night host meant to mock Pence’s own recent book, “Marlon Bundo’s A Day in the Life of the Vice President.”

Charlotte Pence’s book was based on the Pence family bunny, Marlon Bundo, which has become a social media sensation.

Oliver’s book was a lame and crude attempt to attack anything and everything conservative.

Both books promised that their proceeds will go to charity — and rather than insult Oliver’s book, Pence actually purchased a copy and was happy to do so.

“He’s giving proceeds of the book to charity, and we’re also giving proceeds of our book to charity, so I really think that we can all get behind it,” she told The Hill.

The profits from Pence’s book will be given to Tracy’s Kids, an organization that provides young cancer patients with art therapy, and A21, an anti-human trafficking group. The proceeds from Oliver’s book will benefit the Trevor Project, which works to prevent suicide among LGBT youth, and AIDS United.

The young Pence revealed she was more than happy to support the charities.

“It doesn’t have to be divisive,” she said. “I think that everybody can come together over Marlon.”
