DEL RIO, TX – Despite allegations having been proven false last year regarding Border Patrol agents “whipping” Haitian immigrants in Del Rio, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is apparently gearing up to discipline the agents anyway.

Last September, Joe Biden led the American people into condemning agents before having all of the information (or really any of it) when a photograph was released of an agent attempting to stop an illegal immigrant from entering the US. The agent’s whip (used for the horses) was in motion at the time of the capture. At the time of the photo’s release, prior to any information being obtained about what was happening in it, then-press secretary Jen Psaki said, “[President Biden] believes that the footage and photos are horrific. They don’t represent who we are as a country.”

It’s important to note that what has been described by the mainstream media and leftist politicians as “whips” are actually what the agents on horseback use as reins to steer the horses. At the time of the accusation, an agent said they’re “primarily used to steer the horse, but agents will also spin them sometimes to deter people from getting too close to the horse…We are not aware of anyone being struck with the reins.”

That same media didn’t correct their discredited stories once they were found to be false, so many viewers of legacy media such as ABC, NBC, and CBS still believe the agents were “whipping” illegal immigrants without cause.

Biden later promised that he would make the agents “pay,” saying, “To see people treated like they did, horses barely running over, people being strapped – it’s outrageous. I promise you. Those people will pay. There will be an investigation underway now, and there will be consequences. There will be consequences.”

After those premature and unprofessional remarks made by the occupant of the White House, Brandon Judd, head of the National Border Patrol Council, said that it would be nearly impossible to have a fair investigation, saying that his comments were “completely and totally outrageous” and accused the president of “playing politics with Border Patrol agents’ lives.”

The agents have since been cleared of any criminal misconduct, though still under “administrative review.”

Now, a “federal source” has told Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin that DHS is “preparing to discipline” the agents. On Tuesday, Melugin tweeted, “BREAKING: Per federal source, DHS is preparing to discipline multiple horseback Border Patrol agents who were accused of ‘whipping’ Haitian migrants in Del Rio last summer. I’m told DHS will imminently allege ‘administrative violations’, agents will be able to respond.”

Further, Melugin said, “It has been nearly 9 months since this incident took place. The agents have been taken off their normal duties and have not been allowed to have contact w/ migrants since. President Biden assured the public at the time that ‘there will be consequences’ for the agents involved.”
Reportedly, an announcement on the matter is expected within “the coming days.”
