With the 2022 midterms right around the corner and the Democrats desperately grasping for votes, once again, the talks about canceling student loan debt is back on the table. One of the main supporters of doing away with the massive debt put on students was Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren. But while the Democrats might see this as a great way to help out the next generation and gain some votes at the same time, political commentator, Bill Maher, suggested it was “pissing off the working class” at the same time being a “loser issue”.
On Friday’s episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher”, the host stated, “We who didn’t go to college and didn’t benefit from that are gonna subsidize you, to get your degree in gender studies and sports marketing and all the other bulls**t. I think it’s a loser issue.”

Sharing his opinion with Maher, Paul Begala, who was a chief strategist for Bill Clinton admitted, “We Democrats have a lab, two labs actually, secret labs – one in Berkeley and one in Brooklyn, where we come up with ideas to completely piss off the working class, and it’s working wonderfully. And they all have PhDs right in pissing off the working class. Somehow, in my lifetime, the Democrats have gone from being the party of the factory floor to being the party faculty lounge.”
The Democrat strategist didn’t stop there as he gave free advice to the current administration and party. “I’d much rather see Democrats do is go back to their roots, which is earn it. We’re the party that carried the G.I. Bill, and nobody called that free college because it wasn’t. The guys who got the G.I. Bill earned it.”
Begala added, “Why don’t we have a system where we say, ‘You want to get out of your college debt, serve your country – Marine Corps, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps.’ Not everybody can carry a rifle, but you can mentor a kid, and you should give two years of service. Then you will have earned that and expand it. So we have community college job training. We need more mechanics, not MBAs.”

Right on Maher
Instead of still being lazy and believe the world owes them a soft, easy life, why not make these ungrateful recipitients finally stand on their own two feet and become responsible citizens like the rest of us who may not be much but we are proud to say we “earned” what we have. They have spent a few years to as much as a decade, living off the “borrowed” money so now is the time to pay it back. No one forced you to “borrow it” exept your laziness about working and learning at the same time.
What a slap in the face to all who paid off our student loans. Hell no one helped me. If you are gonna pay loans off how about a quid pro quo. No freebies, for every year you work say in Public Health Service, Military 1/10th of your loan is forgiven. Otherwise tell these babies to go BUGGER OFF
