Biden quantifies Hillary’s ‘basket of deplorables,’ says 50 million Americans are bad people

In an interview Thursday discussing the widespread protests and riots sweeping across America, Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden said 10-15% of the nation’s roughly 330 million people are “not very good people.”

Biden made the remark during an online town hall event which was moderated by actor Don Cheadle.

Ryan Wilson, the CEO of The Gathering Spot, was also present in the discussion. Biden began talking about the need to unite the country, chastising President Donald Trump for “dividing America.” He then proceeded to say up to 50 million Americans are bad people.

Biden told Cheadle, “The words a president says matter, so when a president stands up and divides people all the time, you’re gonna get the worst of us to come out. Do we really think that this is as good as we can be as a nation? I don’t think the vast majority of people think that. There are probably anywhere from 10 to 15% of the people out there who are just not very good people,” Biden said. You can watch the video below:

It’s unclear who exactly Biden was referring to when referencing the 30-50 million Americans he feels “aren’t very good people,” and whether or not he believes they support President Trump.

His remarks, however, harken back to the controversial comments made by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election when, at a campaign event, she estimated that “half” of Trump’s supporters belong in a “basket of deplorables.”

This most recent interview is one in an ever-growing series of gaffes Biden has made virtually every time he takes part in a live speech or discussion.

During his interview two weeks ago on “The Breakfast Club,” the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee told the radio show host Charlamagne tha God “you ain’t black” if any black voter is still undecided between supporting him or President Trump.

In multiple interviews since that radio show, Biden has cast blame for his own remarks on the radio show host—insisting the host was “baiting” him, which he says prompted him to make his remarks. Host Charlamagne tha God shot back last week, telling Stephen Colbert “I didn’t bait” Biden and that he “volunteered that fish” on his own.

Between coughing fits on-air during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, completely losing his train of thought while attempting to outline his list of suggested policy ideas to combat the COVID-19 pandemic (as random birds bellowed in the background during the live feed), Biden and the Democratic Party are likely petrified as more of America is reopening.

Pretty soon they won’t be able to justify keeping him hidden in his basement any longer, and he will be forced to hit the campaign trail again—with far fewer controls in place to run interference on his incessant blundering.
