House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) got together on Friday in Washington, D.C., to air their differences and “be on the same page,” supposedly.

But many people recognize this was largely a photo opportunity for both of them.

Interestingly, AOC — who generally tweets about virtually everything she does and everything she thinks — has not so far tweeted a message about the Pelosi meeting.

Yet AOC did tweet this upbeat message about an adorable canine at roughly 2 p.m. on Friday:

The House speaker, for her part, put out a message and photo of the summer Friday get-together between the two.

“Today, Congresswoman @RepAOC and I sat down to discuss working together to meet the needs of our districts and our country, fairness in our economy and diversity in our country.”

That’s about as bland as bland gets.

Clearly she wasn’t airing any dirty laundry.

Reporters asked Pelosi at her Friday press conference for details of the meeting, but she largely deflected.

Meanwhile, the next round of Democratic primary debates occur next week, on Monday and Tuesday nights — let’s see what happens there.

Many of those candidates have gotten little or no press attention of late, given the far more fraught — at least for now — battles between moderate Democrats and progressive socialists, especially in the wake of the Robert Mueller hearings on Capitol Hill this past week.
