ONTARIO, CANADA – Renowned clinical psychologist Dr. Jordan B. Peterson is reportedly under threat from an official regulatory body in Ontario who are threatening to potentially suspend his license to practice unless he undergoes a “mandatory social-media communication retraining” in regard to his activity on Twitter.

On the morning of January 3rd, Dr. Peterson took to Twitter to reveal that he was being targeted by the College of Psychologists of Ontario, a regulatory entity in Ontario who “is the governing body for psychological practitioners, Psychologists, and Psychological Associates, in Ontario,” with Dr. Peterson asserting he is allegedly facing the targeting over his criticism of the current Canadian government.

“BREAKING: the Ontario College of Psychologists…has demanded that I submit myself to mandatory social-media communication retraining with their experts for, among other crimes, retweeting [Pierre Poilievre] and criticizing [Prime Minister Justin Trudeau] and his political allies.”

The clinical psychologist further alleged that he has “been accused of harming people,” but the people purporting to being harmed by Dr. Peterson’s online rhetoric are reportedly neither patients under his care nor “even acquainted with” any of his clients.

From what Dr. Peterson claims of his recent interactions with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, he’s essentially being forced into undergoing a de facto reeducation camp of sorts – and providing status updates while undergoing said process – with the aim being for him to only recite the approved opinions/stances consistent with contemporary progressive ideology.

“I am to take a course of such training with reports documenting my ‘progress’ or face an in-person tribunal and suspension of my right to operate as a licensed clinical psychologist.”

“About a dozen people from all over the world submitted complaints about my public statements on Twitter and Rogan over a four-year .four-year period (out of the 15 million who follow me on social media) claiming that I had ‘harmed’ people (not them) with my views.”

The prospect of a clinical psychologist being robbed of his rightfully earned license to practice, ostensibly over him being critical of political figures, among other takes, is certainly the hallmark of a dystopian, perhaps more aptly Orwellian, society.

Furthermore, this official regulatory body coming after Dr. Peterson over his use of social media incensing people who are not, nor ever were they vexatious, under his professional care appears to be a massive overstep based upon the College of Psychologists of Ontario’s own published areas of oversight and regulation.

“The structure of the College reflects its varied roles in fulfilling its public protection mandate.  Through its Committees, the College carries out its various responsibilities:

 

  • Setting requirements for entry to practice and administering the oral and written registration examinations;

  • Registering qualified Psychologists and Psychological Associates;

  • Setting and monitoring practice standards and ethical behaviour of the profession;

  • Administering the Quality Assurance program and ensuring continued competence of the profession;

  • Providing educational materials and information to the public and the profession regarding the practice of psychology;

  • Investigating complaints and addressing concerns about the quality of service delivered or the professional conduct of the practitioner.”

This particular overreach by the College of Psychologists of Ontario isn’t lost on Dr. Peterson, either, due to him pointing out in subsequent Twitter posts that the regulatory body could’ve easily dismissed the frivolous complaints lodged against him as being “vexatious.”

“In its wisdom [the College of Psychologists of Ontario] decided to pursue these complaints even though they could have dismissed them as vexatious.”

“I have been accused of harming people (although none of the complainants involved in the current action were clients of mine, past or present, or were even acquainted with any of my clients).”

In our previous reporting here at Red Voice Media, YouTube personality and attorney Nick Rekieta faced a similar harassment campaign launched by random individuals who took issue with his voiced opinions on social media, with this online mob attempting to have Rekieta reprimanded by the state bar; an effort that was ultimately unsuccessful since Rekieta had never officially represented any of the trolls involved in the harassment campaign.

But it seems that in the case of Dr. Peterson, the efforts by his critics to initiate a sort of struggle session are working, with the clinical psychologist being fully aware that was he’s enduring is tantamount to a Maoist China denunciation rally.

“We are now in a situation in Canada under [Justin Trudeau] where practicing professionals can have their livelihoods and public reputations threatened in a very serious manner for agreeing with the Official Opposition and criticizing major government figures.”

“If I comply with. the terms of my re-education and my punishment will be announced publicly. I have already had the second most serious category of punishment levied against me and have been deemed at high risk to ‘re-offend.’”

Canada’s current political regime has demonstrated, especially over the past couple of years, that dissent will be met with the full force of the government, and Dr. Peterson appears to be Trudeau’s next target to use government force to compel obedience.
