At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, people all over America had completely different opinions and thoughts on how the government should handle the virus. Listening to the government, people obeyed the restrictions, mandates, and lockdown to some degree. But it didn’t take long before people started to question the advice from the CDC and Dr. Anthony Fauci. With masks, lockdowns, and restrictions doing little to stop COVID-19, the same government agencies turned to the supposed miracle drug made by Pfizer and Moderna. Once again, promoted as the best defense against the coronavirus, the drug came under intense criticism. And while competitive bodybuilder Doug Brignole (62) was a massive supporter of the jab, he sadly passed away last Thursday while training for an upcoming competition.

This week, Las Vegas will be hosting the 2022 AU Mr. Universe competition which draws some of the top bodybuilders in the world. And before his untimely death, Doug Brignole was training to compete in it. Again, not much is known about what led to his death, but it should be noted that Brignole trained regularly and was in great physical shape.

While bodybuilding was his passion, as mentioned above, Doug Brignole constantly promoted the COVID-19 drug. He was so confident in the drug that he encouraged those considered anti-vaxxers to use him as an example. “I have enough confidence in the vaccine, based on my research, to get it done. Those of you who think the vaccine kills people can use me as a test. If I die, you were right. If I don’t die, and have no ill effects, you were wrong, and should admit it (at least to yourselves). Better yet, you should admit that you were misled, and tell the world who misled you, so other people can benefit by avoiding those fearmongers.”

Looking through his Facebook posts, he celebrated getting the second COVID-19 booster in April of 2021. He captioned the post with, “I’m vaccinated! Well, the first of two. Let’s get this done so we can get back to traveling, going to concerts, and having fun. My vaccine was yesterday, and I had no problem with it. My deltoid was a bit sore, but otherwise fine. We’re all in this together, so let’s do our share to beat it.”

Fans of Doug Brignole offered their condolences, writing, “A big loss to the fitness and bodybuilding community. Doug Brignole was highly respected for his training knowledge and helped many achieve their fitness goals. He was a drug-free bodybuilding champion. Too bad.” Another one added, “Incredibly sad to report that my friend and mentor Doug Brignole passed away today. Doug taught me how to train PROPERLY, and I never would have developed anywhere near the physique I did if it wasn’t for him. His body was amazing, but his mind even more so. RIP buddy.”
