Tired of waiting for the Biden administration and Democrats to take control of the Southern border, top Republicans like Governor Greg Abbott and Governor Ron DeSantis decided to fly and bus thousands of migrants to Democratic states, giving them a taste of what goes on at the border. The Democrats quickly reacted, criticizing the GOP for creating a crisis first started by the Biden administration. It should be noted that the border patrol agents have already encountered over 2 million migrants at the border, yet DeSantis sending around 50 migrants to Martha’s Vineyard is a humanitarian crisis. Now, it seems that another Democrat, California Governor Gavin Newsom, is accusing the GOP Governors of kidnapping migrants.

That’s right, the Democrat not only accused the Republicans of kidnapping migrants, but he even wrote a letter to the Department of Justice. According to Fox News, “In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Newsom asked whether actions by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sending illegal immigrants from their respective states to destinations such as New York City, Washington, D.C. Chicago, and Martha’s Vineyard were illegal.”

Governor Gavin Newsom made outlandish claims to the DOJ, writing, “Several of the individuals who were transported to Martha’s Vineyard have alleged that a recruiter induced them to accept the offer of travel based on false representations that they would be transported to Boston and would receive expedited access to work authorization. I urge US DOJ to investigate whether the alleged fraudulent inducement would support charges of kidnapping under relevant state laws.”

Not playing into the accusations made by the California Governor, DeSantis’ communications director, Taryn Fenske, admitted, “States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies.”

After the migrants arrived in Martha’s Vineyard, Dylan Fernandes, the state representative for the district, stated that the people were not met with chaos. “Our island jumped into action putting together 50 beds, giving everyone a good meal, providing a play area for the children, making sure people have the healthcare and support they need. We are a community that comes together to support immigrants.”

Christina Pushaw, another communications director for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, congratulated them on the work, adding, “Great, then you won’t mind taking in a few thousand more.”

Online users expressed their opinions, concluding, “It might be cheap political points, but DeSantis doesn’t need those points to win. And the rep who seems so hospitable, keep up the good work; because more are on the way. Thank you, DeSantis, for keeping Florida great.”
