Fox: “Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., snapped back at Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, when she commented on his use of firearms during a Thursday congressional hearing.

The incident occurred during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Democratic ‘Protect Our Kids’ package, an expansive piece of gun control legislation that Democrats argue is common sense, while Republicans say it is overly broad and unconstitutional.

Steube, who attended the hearing digitally from his own home, gave several examples of firearms in his own personal collection that the Democratic bill would ban.

The renewed push for gun control legislation comes after a pair of mass shootings killed 31 people in recent weeks. Ten Americans were killed in a racially-motivated mass shooting in New York in early April, and 19 children and two teachers were killed at an Uvalde, Texas, elementary school last week.”

“Here’s a gun I carry every single day to protect myself, my family, my wife and my home,” Steube said. “This is a XL Sig Sauer P365. It comes with a 15-round magazine. Here’s a seven-round magazine, which would be less than what would be lawful under this bill if this bill were to become law,”

“I hope that gun is not loaded,” Lee then said. “I’m at my house. I can do whatever I want with my guns,” Steube shot back. He wins.

Mondaire Jones wants your guns. “You will not stop us from advancing the Protecting Our Kids Act today,” he said. “If the filibuster obstructs us, we will abolish it. If the Supreme Court objects, we will expand it. And we will not rest until we have taken weapons of war out of circulation and our communities each and every day.”

Jim Jordan will stop him. “Now we know where they want to go. He just said it,” Jordan, said. “End the filibuster. Expand the court. Forget the Constitution. Now, we know.

“Democrats blame guns. They criticize the NRA. They call Republicans names. But let’s be honest, they’ve told us what they want to do. Their real beef is with the Second Amendment,” Jordan added. “Their goal, plain and simple, is to get rid of the Second Amendment. Joe Biden said it the other day, said he wants to ban 9mm handguns.”

Another Republican agrees. “The courts have made it pretty clear you cannot deprive young adults any more of the remainder of Americans of their core Second Amendment right to self-defense,” said Dan Bishop, R-N.C.
