With the leaked document showing the Supreme Court overturning the ruling of Roe v. Wade, the Democrats have not only taken to the streets, but liberal activists have started to protest outside of the houses of conservative Justices. For those who might not know, the ruling has not been made official, and if it was, abortion would not be banned across the United States as some have claimed. The decision on abortion would become a state issue. But still, with the subject of abortion taking center stage, the Democrats have accused Republicans of stripping women of their rights and now, trying to outlaw interracial marriage.
Democrat Representative, Eric Swalwell, jumped on Twitter, as all politicians do, to spread his claims that the GOP was going to start targeting interracial marriages. He wrote, “The Republicans won’t stop with banning abortion. They want to ban interracial marriage. Do you want to save that? Well, then you should probably vote.”
Hi Eric, my name is Wesley Hunt, I’m a Republican nominee in a Congressional District that is 70% white. I’m black, I’m in an interracial marriage, and my wife and I have two biracial daughters. Republicans are celebrating diversity while white liberals like yourself race-bait. https://t.co/r7bSNlskVp

While a heavy accusation to hurl at the GOP, there is no evidence showing that the GOP wants to ban any type of marriage. Thankfully, before the disinformation spread any more, Wesley Hunt, who is running for Congress as a Republican, decided to take some time out of his day to help teach Rep. Swalwell. He suggested, “Hi Eric, my name is Wesley Hunt, I’m a Republican nominee in a Congressional District that is 70% white. I’m black, I’m in an interracial marriage, and my wife and I have two biracial daughters. Republicans are celebrating diversity while white liberals like yourself race-bait.”
Surprisingly, Swalwell replied to Hunt, again accusing the GOP. “Hey Wesley, your problem isn’t with me. It’s with @SenatorBraun who said states should be able to ban interracial marriages like yours. He’s a senator in YOUR party. Looks like you’re just another Republican who is in denial of what your colleagues say. Party over country, right?”
Continuing their debate, Hunt issued another tweet, ending the conversation with “Eric, here we go again. My problem is with you. You’ve never been black a day in your life, and yet the white ‘intellectual’ Democrat from California is lecturing me on racism. And for the record, don’t lecture me on country over party either, I served in combat, did you?”
