WASHINGTON, DC – White House press secretary Jen Psaki recently delivered a bizarre take regarding rising gas prices in the United States, proclaiming that engaging in more domestic drilling somehow wouldn’t alleviate the rising fuel costs.
During an appearance on Fox News, Psaki was asked whether the Biden administration would consider the likes of reversing policies around the Keystone pipeline or if federal oil and gas leases would be made available for U.S.-based companies to start drilling as a means to address rising fuel costs.
Psaki asserted that the administration is reviewing a “range of options”, adding that Biden had “recently tapped into the strategic petroleum reserve just last fall” saying that the aforementioned action “had an impact.”
The Fox News host interrupted Psaki to note that the “impact” she’d referenced was only a “blip”, saying that the prior tapping into the strategic petroleum reserve didn’t foster a lasting impact.
The White House press secretary in turn replied that the policies that were brought up earlier – such as domestic drilling – are somehow not policy proposals that would rectify rising gas prices.
“But Dana, the policies you mentioned – I know that Senator Cotton and others have mentioned these – they’re not policies that would address the issue at all.”
But Psaki’s odd take about domestic drilling not being a viable solution to rising gas prices wasn’t the only recent fuel-rant-fiasco that the White House press secretary engaged in, as she recently stumbled through an answer during a press briefing about why the U.S. is still importing Russian gas.
A reporter has shot a straight question to Psaki about the importing of Russian gas, asking, “What is the stance of the U.S. in buying Russian gas at this point? At this point, are we ready to pledge not to buy any more Russian gas?”
In a non-flattering rare form, Psaki had stalled and stammered through the answer, eventually giving a deep-winded response which basically spelled out that private companies appear to be the ones purchasing this oil.

Tapping the oil reserves is like pouring a bottle of water in the ocean, and if they had brains they’d know that. I think we have some compromised people in our gov’t, and they don’t seem to realize just who they are supposed to be representing.
I’d like to ask this administration, why is it okay to burn Russian Oil, but not okay to burn our own? If it’s the climate they are worried about, don’t both contribute? Paying millions a day for Russia’s oil, only serves to help them out, while damaging America, and we could be getting our own oil and using it! Now, buying it from Russia only helps them in this war. It just doesn’t make sense to buy their oil. We have our own.
I have heard today that a number of those “private companies” are leaving Russia and Putin to their own business of drilling, shipping, etc. All Biden has to do is return to the sane policies he inherited – had he kept them to begin with it is very likely a large number of Ukraine women and children would still be alive and those still there would not be terrified. Monuments and large government buildings and apartment buildings would still be standing. Huge price for his catering to Global Warming . . . oops, is it Climate Change currently folks! And the US not providing energy, in no way changes the numbers on Climate Change, or whatever is the latest label in use! So, again, a huge cost to a people who could not affect the decisions at all!
