Yesterday, we reported that Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) was under fire for posting an anime video that showed him stabbing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in the back. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is calling for law enforcement and the House Ethics Committee to investigate Gosar over this video.

“Threats of violence against members of Congress and the President of the United States must not be tolerated,” Pelosi tweeted, adding that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) “should join in condemning this horrific video and call on the Ethics Committee and law enforcement to investigate.”

Gosar tweeted out the video in question on Sunday. Check it out for yourself below.

Despite the backlash over the video, Gosar has refused to back down and delete it.

“I will always fight for the rule of law, securing our borders and defending the America First agenda,” Gosar told Reuters.

Gosar also took to Twitter to mock the backlash over the video by posting a meme featuring a crying wojak character that appears to represent the Arizona Republican’s critics.

This comes after Ocasio-Cortez had a full meltdown over the video.

“So while I was en route to Glasgow, a creepy member I work with who fundraises for Neo-Nazi groups shared a fantasy video of him killing me,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted according to Daily Mail. “And he’ll face no consequences bc @GOPLeader cheers him on with excuses. Fun Monday! Well, back to work bc institutions don’t protect WOC [women of color].”

“This dude is just a collection of wet toothpicks anyway,” she added. “White supremacy is for extremely fragile people & sad men like him, whose self-concept relies on the myth that he was born superior because deep down he knows he couldn’t open a pickle jar or read a whole book by himself.”

Ocasio-Cortez later tweeted again about other Republican lawmakers on Monday night.

“Remember when [Rep. Ted] Yoho accosted me on the Capitol and called me a f—ing b—,” she said. “Remember when Greene ran after me a few months ago screaming and reaching Remember when she stalked my office the 1st time w/ insurrectionists & ppl [sic] locked inside All at my job & nothing ever happens.”

Gosar’s digital director Jessica Lycos fired back by telling The Washington Post that “everyone needs to relax.”

Other Democrats also threw tantrums over the video.

“Republican @RepGosar has shared a photoshopped animated video that depicts him killing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” tweeted Democratic strategist Kaivan Shroff. “Absolutely disgraceful. He should be removed from committee assignments just as Marjorie Taylor Greene was.”
