Biden’s picks for certain positions in his administration would be laughable if they didn’t so completely align with his progressive, Marxist agenda.

For example, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. On Thursday, Cardona testified in front of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee regarding schools reopening.

When asked the simple question of whether he thought that parents should be the “primary stakeholder” in their children’s education, Cardona said, “I believe parents are important stakeholders…”

So…No. The answer is no, he does not believe that parents are the primary stakeholders in their own children’s education.

As for vaccine and mask mandates in the schools, Cardona supports both. However, he said, “I believe the decision about mandating should be at the state and local level, and I support the efforts being made to promote vaccines and require them in places where spread is high.”

Last week, Cardona was also called out for using a study to push his own masking agenda in schools, by the actual senior author of the study. He cited a study from 17 schools in Wood County, Wisconsin, found on the CDC website.

In a tweet, he said, “A Wisconsin study found that schools that required masking had a 37% lower incidence (sic) of COVID-19 than the surrounding community.”

Dr. Tracy Beth Høeg, senior author of the cited study, saw the tweet and responded to Cardona, saying, “Secretary Cardona, I was the senior author of this study. Our study is not able to give any information about the role masks played in the observed low in-school transmission rates. We had no control group so don’t know if the rate would have been different without masks.”

In March, Dr. Høeg co-wrote an op-ed stating that the CDC “misinterpreted” the data from her study and used it to restrict schools further than they should have been.

“The recent school reopening guidance released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is an example of fears influencing and resulting in misinterpretation of science and harmful policy,” the article read.

It continued, “Keeping schools closed or even partially closed, based on what we know now is unwarranted, is harming children, and has become a human rights issue.”

I guess Cardona can’t be fully blamed for his ignorance. After all, he’s only following the guidance of his boss.
