On Monday, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) spoke out to blast Dr. Anthony Fauci over reports that his institute funded research requiring the abuse, mutilation, and death of puppies.

Florida Politics reported that documents unearthed by a watchdog group found that under Fauci’s leadership, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases funded research in 2018, allowing scientists to force-feed experimental drugs into 44 beagle puppies before killing and dissecting them. The dogs, who were all between the ages of 6 and 8 months, were also “devocalized.”

“They’re doing cruel experiments on puppies,” DeSantis told reporters during a press conference. “What they were doing with those puppies is flat out disgusting. It’s despicable. I cannot believe American tax dollars would go to treat those dogs the way those dogs are being treated.”

Not stopping there, DeSantis also slammed Fauci over documents that show an NIH grant-funded bat coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. This research involved enhancing a virus to predict possible future pandemics.

“We’ve got to shut that down,” DeSantis said. “You can’t have mad scientists running around playing God like this.”

These revelations have only lent credence to the “lab leak” origination theory of COVID-19.

“I really think Fauci needs to be held accountable,” DeSantis said. “These people, these bureaucrats, they don’t get to just run wild and do whatever the hell they want to with our tax dollars.”

This came one day after DeSantis announced plans to sign legislation that would give a $5,000 bonus to police officers around the country who relocated to Florida to work in the state.

“We’re actually actively working to recruit out-of-state law enforcement because we do have needs in our police and our sheriff’s departments,” DeSantis told Fox News on Sunday. “In the next legislative session, I’m going to hopefully sign legislation that gives a $5,000 bonus to any out-of-state law enforcement that relocates in Florida.”

“So NYPD, Minneapolis, Seattle, if you’re not being treated well, we’ll treat you better here. You can fill important needs for us, and we will compensate you as a result,” DeSantis said, referring to law enforcement jobs that have been risked by vaccine mandates. The Florida governor has long been fighting against these mandates.

“We’re going to have a special session, and we’re going to say nobody should lose their job based off these injections. It’s a choice you can make, but we want to make sure we are protecting your jobs and your livelihood,” DeSantis said.
