Last Thursday, the Hollywood star Alec Baldwin fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza on the set of the movie Rust. Now, a prosecutor is saying that criminal charges are still on the table for Baldwin.

“Everything at this point, including criminal charges, is on the table,” district attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies told The New York Times.

She went on to say that it is not clear at this time what was loaded into the gun at the time of the shooting, and part of the investigation is determining who loaded the weapon.

“There were an enormous amount of bullets on this set, and we need to find out what kinds they were,” Carmack-Altwies explained.

Fox News obtained a warrant yesterday that showed that the authorities collected ammunition and multiple firearms from the set amid their investigation. However, the inventory did not specify the type of ammunition found. Carmack-Altwies took issue with the word prop gun being used for the weapon.

“It was a legit gun,” she said. “It was an antique, era-appropriate gun.”

Carmack-Alties went on to say that this investigation is far from over.

“It’s probably weeks, if not months, of follow-up investigation that we’re going to need to get to the point of charging,” she added.

Camrack-Alties then said that this is one of the most challenging cases Santa Fe has ever faced in modern memory.

“We have complex cases all the time,” she said. “But this kind of complex case, with these kinds of prominent people, no.”

Some believe that Baldwin should be charged for Hutchins’ death.

“Alec Baldwin is presumably in charge because he’s the producer and has a great voice on the budget here,” said famed criminal defense lawyer Mark Geragos. “I guarantee you they’re also looking at whether or not people were shaving money or trying to cut costs and [whether] this is one of the results of that.”

Geragos added that he “would be shocked if there wasn’t an involuntary manslaughter charge brought in this case.”

“Who do they bring it against is a real question because I don’t know that we’ve heard all the facts,” Geragos said. “I don’t think anybody intentionally did this, from what has been reported. But clearly, somebody introduced live ammo on a set and was pointing it obviously at the director.”

Baldwin is a radical liberal who has long enjoyed shaming conservatives and supporters of Donald Trump.
