On Monday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about the recent U.S. drone strike that killed an aid worker and nine other innocents, including seven children – to which she defended President Biden by saying he has “personally” experienced loss in his life.

The Biden administration had initially claimed that they had bombed members of “ISIS-K.”

Biden has often cited his own family tragedies when trying to empathize with the American people – though members of his family died in accidents and from illness, not from botched airstrikes.

Psaki’s remarks during the daily White House briefing drew jeers from commentators.

Psaki: Biden Is ‘Somebody Who Has Overseen Loss In A Variety Of Scenarios’

Psaki said, “Well, the President was briefed on Friday morning about the report that was going to be released and put out, I would say, first, the president’s view, and all of our view, is that the loss of any civilian life is a tragedy, as was, as was made clear in the comments by the Secretary of Defense by General McKenzie, this was done in error.”

Psaki added. “And clearly, the investigation that will continue is something the president broadly supports.”

Then Psaki brought up Biden’s personal loss.

“So, as a human being, as a president, as somebody who has overseen loss in a variety of scenarios, both as a leader and personally, his reaction is it’s a tragedy and every loss is a tragedy, and he supports the efforts to, the effort to move this forward as quickly as possible and to have a thorough investigation,” she said.

Biden’s son Beau died of brain cancer. His first wife Neilia was killed in a car accident along with their young daughter.

Fox News’ Bret Baier responded on social media to Psaki’s comments by reframing her words.

Biden Admin Originally Claimed They Bombed Terrorists

The Pentagon claimed after the missile strike that they had stopped an imminent terror threat by killing members of “ISIS-K.”

Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley even called it a “righteous strike.”

Almost immediately, observers on social media questioned the strike, the legitimacy of “ISIS-K,” and believed that the Biden administration had in fact bombed an innocent family.

Eventually, the New York Times revealed that the latter was indeed what happened.

Baier wasn’t the only commentator who was put off by Biden deflecting criticism by seeking sympathy.
