According to a new Fox News poll, President Biden’s efforts and promises to be a unifier are not going over well – a majority believes America is less united than it was when President Trump was in office.

That majority clocks in at 54 percent.

Just 37 percent believe the country is more unified than it was before Biden took office.

Biden Disapproval Remains High

Biden’s disapproval woes are still ongoing as well – the President has seen a big spike in disapproval since the botched withdrawal in Afghanistan that resulted in 13 American service members killed in a terrorist attack.

56 percent of Americans disapprove of the direction of the country under the Biden administration.

Only 42 percent said they approve of how the country’s current direction under this president.

On Biden’s mental capabilities, 49 percent believe he is of sound mind, while 50 percent say he is trustworthy.

Fox News reported, “On two of the biggest issues Biden has had to face – the COVID-19 pandemic and the U.S. withdrawing from Afghanistan – results varied.”

“Biden garners his best job rating for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic: 55 percent approve, while 44 percent disapprove,” the news outlet noted. “That’s mostly unchanged from August (54-42 percent), but down from 64-34 percent in June.”

Republican pollster Daron Shaw, who conducts the Fox News surveys with Democratic partner Chris Anderson, told Fox News, “Biden has had solid numbers so far, but his handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Delta variant has taken a toll.”

“It may be especially difficult for him to re-establish himself as competent and a strong leader,” Shaw added.

This new poll comes on the same day NBC’s Chuck Todd said they he believes Biden is facing a “pretty big credibility crisis.”

NBC’s Chuck Todd On Biden: ‘I Think He’s Got A Pretty Big Credibility Crisis On His Hands’

“Well, look, I think he’s got a pretty big credibility crisis on his hands because all of these problems in some ways showed up after he said something basically the exact opposite,” Todd said on Sunday.

“And of course, the border,” Todd added. “We can talk about the border problems, you could say they’re years in the making, but it’s pretty clear that we have a bigger problem now than we’ve had in years, and these policies have turned it into becoming a magnet.”

Over the weekend, Americans have seen shocking scenes at the border, as over 10,000 Haitians are attempting to enter the country.
