When Donald Trump and his son Don Jr. commentated a high-profile boxing match on Saturday night, the crowd chanted “we love Trump” for the former president.

When Trump grabbed the microphone before the Evander Holyfield-Vitor Belfort match, he was overwhelmed by loud crowd chants and praise by his supporters at the matches.

“This is an honor to be with you! What a great evening,” Trump said. “I think you’re gonna see an incredible fight.”

“We love our country, we love our country,” Trump also said. “Thank you very much,” Trump said in response to the boisterous “We love Trump” chant that continued even after the former president sat down at the announcer’s table.

58-year-old Holyfield lost to 44-year-old Belfort after he got knocked out in the first round.

Belfort reportedly did not give Holyfield an opportunity to land a single punch on him.

Before the fight, the eventual victor Belfort told viewers, “Let’s unite and Make America Great Again!”

On Thursday, a press conference was held to promote the match in which Trump said that the easiest boxing fight for him would be against President Joe Biden.

Biden would “go down very, very quickly,” according to Trump.

Don Jr. On His Dad’s Place In Combat Sports: ‘He’s Really A Part Of Boxing And Really Fight History’

Don Jr. was interviewed on the “The David Hookstead Show” on Friday, where he discussed he and his father’s involvement in Saturday’s fight and also some analysis about his dad and what he means to combat sports.

“He’s really a part of boxing and really fight history,” Don Jr. said. The former president’s son called his dad an “encyclopedia” when it came his knowledge of boxing.

Trump has had a decades-long friendship and professional relationship with famed boxing promoter Don King – and played a role in the rise of boxing legend Mike Tyson.
