Recently, The United States, Britain, and Australia have formed an alliance titled AUKUS, which left two former allies of the three countries (New Zealand and France), plus China, more than a little upset.
Red Voice Media reported this week the actions that China took due to the alliance, but today we have an update on what France is doing.
Feeling like they were “betrayed,” according to French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drain, France decided to pull their ambassadors from the United States and Australia.
The move was reportedly called for by President Macron and sent the ambassadors back to Paris for “consultations.”

Le Drain also said that the alliance was a “stab in the back” by France’s three former tight allies.
In a statement this week, Le Drain said, “The abandonment of the ocean-class submarine project that Australia and France had been working on since 2016 and the announcement of a new partnership with the United States aimed at studying the possibility of future cooperation on nuclear-powered submarines constitute unacceptable behavior among allies and partners; their consequences affect the very concept we have of our alliances, our partnerships, and the importance of the Indo-Pacific for Europe.”
“I am angry and bitter,” Le Drain added. “This isn’t done between allies.”
The pact was meant to assist Australia in developing nuclear submarines and largely the result of China’s increasingly aggressive behavior off the coast of Beijing, which hosts trade routes for all involved countries.
New Zealand has also declared that Australia’s vessels would not be allowed into its waters due to their restrictions under their nuclear-free policies. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said earlier this week, “New Zealand’s position in relation to the prohibition of nuclear-powered vessels in our waters remains unchanged.”
