Obama Reportedly Blasted Trump As A ‘Madman’ And A ‘Racist, Sexist Pig,’ New Book Alleges

Former President Barack Obama reportedly held nothing back as he attacked Donald Trump in closed-door donor events over the past five years, a new book is claiming.

Edward-Isaac Dovere, a staff writer at the Atlantic, claims in his new book “Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats’ Campaigns to Defeat Donald Trump” that Obama regularly trashed Trump behind the scenes. Obama is quoted in the book as allegedly calling Trump a “madman,” a “racist, sexist pig,” “that f***ing lunatic” and a “corrupt motherf***er.”

The fact that Obama went this far privately in his attacks on Trump isn’t much of a surprise, given what he has said publicly about his successor. It was reported earlier this month that Obama had slammed Trump’s handling of COVID-19 while addressing former members of his administration, describing it as an “absolute chaotic disaster.”

“What we’re fighting against is these long-term trends in which being selfish, being tribal, being divided, and seeing others as an enemy — that has become a stronger impulse in American life. And by the way, we’re seeing that internationally as well. It’s part of the reason why the response to this global crisis has been so anemic and spotty,” Obama said, according to Yahoo News.

“It would have been bad even with the best of governments,” he added. “It has been an absolute chaotic disaster when that mindset — of ‘what’s in it for me’ and ‘to heck with everybody else’ — when that mindset is operationalized in our government.”

Obama campaigned hard against Trump last year, saying just before the election that his presidency “exceeded” his worst fears.

“Had we just taken those steps, there is no doubt we would have saved some lives, and ironically, the economy would be better,” Obama told late night host Stephen Colbert. “You couldn’t make up some of the stuff that you’re seeing. And it is to the detriment of the country. But as you said. It runs contrary to what would have been smart politics if the Republicans wanted to maintain the White House.”
