Bakersfield, CA – The Kern County Sheriff’s Department released these bodycam videos in their Critical Incident Briefing of the officer involved shooting of Graciano Ceballos.

On April 28 shortly before 1 am, deputies responded to a call of shots fired near May Street in Oildale. One of the responding deputies was shot at, but fortunately was not hit. A police pursuit began following the gun shot. Ultimately the vehicle crashed into patrol cars in Bakersfield.

The video shows Ceballos being shot as he is running from the vehicle. Deputies fired their weapons after Ceballos refused to show his hands and was making his way to occupied vehicles and apartments. Reportedly Ceballos refused to surrender for an hour, which hindered the ability to provide medical attention in a timely manner. Once Ceballos was taken into custody he was pronounced dead.
