Opinion: Lin Wood Buys Property In Crazytown

Self-appointed Trump lawyer Lin Wood has lost his mind. It’s not enough he is a charlatan selling political snake oil to the bitter and gullible. But now he’s charging the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, without any evidence, with murder, white slavery, and sex with children. Uh huh. That John Roberts. That notorious roue. That Dorian Gray in judicial robes. And oh yeah, Wood has the grammatical grasp and logical coherence of a slow witted cocker spaniel.

Now you may not like the judicial opinions of the CJ, but making him Simon Legree, Charlie Manson, and the Marquis de Sade all rolled into may be a squinch too far. But not for the crazy as a populist bedbug Lin Wood. Reason magazine brings us some details.

Reason: “Yesterday, pro-Trump lawyer Lin Wood one-upped the president by attempting to implicate Chief Justice John Roberts in pedophilia and the murder of the late Justice Antonin Scalia. Wood, who famously signed a verification statement for one of his post-election lawsuits ‘under plenty of perjury,’ posed a couple of bewildering questions to the chief justice on Twitter last night: ‘(1) You are recorded discussing Justice Scalia’s successor before date of his sudden death. How did you know Scalia was going to die? (2) Are you a member of any club or cabal requiring minor children as initiation fee?’ By way of explanation, Wood added: ‘My information from reliable source is that Roberts arranged an illegal adoption of two young children from Wales through Jeffrey Epstein. I think we can all agree that Epstein knows pedophilia.’ In case that did not convince anyone, Wood suggested that his charges must be true because otherwise Roberts would sue him for defamation: ‘I have publicly accused him & Justice Breyer of being profane anti-Trumpers. I have linked Roberts to illegal adoption, Jeffrey Epstein, pedophilia & prior knowledge of Scalia’s death. Did Roberts skip class on defamation?’ This morning Wood responded to ‘the onslaught of attacks being made against me based on my revelations’ about Roberts. ‘Before attacking me,’ he wrote, ‘maybe fair-minded people would first ask Roberts to tell the truth. Or ask Jeffrey Epstein. He is alive.’ ” Wood also thinks Vice President Mike Pence should be arrested for not going along with Louie Gohmert’s wacky legal maneuvers.

This prompted strong conservative and keen observer of the political scene, Virginia’s Amy Johnston, to remark about Wood on social media, “He’s got to be a plant. I swear, he’s either insane or he’s strategically and intentionally trying to damage the MAGA movement. ”

Yup. I’d go with insane. Or trying to get his Warhol 15 with the pitchfork brigade. Either way, if you make common cause with this lunatic you have no place amongst adults who reason. Lie down with dogs, get fleas.
