Former Obama administration official David Axelrod said that Republicans who support President Donald Trump’s election fraud claims are “cowards.”
Those ‘cowards,’ according to Axelrod, include the 18 state attorneys general who support Texas’ case at the Supreme Court challenging the presidential election results in four battleground states.
Axelrod made his comments Wednesday on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time.”

Axelrod: Election Officials Have ‘Displayed Courage’
Axelrod said, “Let’s just be clear about one thing, the president said yesterday, he said let’s see who has the courage to do what everyone in this country knows is right.”
“Let’s talk about courage,” Axelrod teased.
Then Obama’s former senior adviser explained his definition of “courage.”
“Courage are those secretaries of state and election officials who, under threat of violence against them and their families and political repercussions, did their duty, counted the votes, verified the votes, recounted the votes, and proclaimed a winner based on the will of the people in their states,” he claimed.
“That is courage,” Axelrod insisted. “That is courage.”
Here’s something only this guy can answer, and won’t:
Does he actually believe, despite all evidence, that the election was stolen from him?

Axelrod Repeatedly Calls Trump And His Allies ‘Cowards’
He continued, “What these people are doing, these 18 attorneys general, the members of Congress, you know Representative Johnson said the president is eager to see the list of who signs on.”
“What do you think that means?” he said, repeating, “What do you think that means?”
Then he hit the “coward” theme once again.
“These people are cowards,” Axelrod said for the second or third time, depending on your count. “They’re cowards.”
Axelrod wound down, “So let’s be clear of who is showing the courage and who is showing cowardice here.”
“It will be problematic for Biden because Trump is not going to do what other presidents do,” Axelrod predicted.
“He will try to lead the resistance from outside, and he will threaten Republicans who don’t do what he wants them to do.”
Axelrod was echoing a perhaps wise prediction from two-time presidential loser Hillary Clinton.
On a recent podcast, Clinton said, “Trump’s not going away,” Clinton said. “He may have to finally have to leave the White House, but he’s going to turn around the next day and say he’s running for President again, and then he’s going to be out there, he’s going to have rallies, because it’s like lifeblood to him.”
The 2020 election still has not been settled, though the national media and fact-checkers insist that Joe Biden has won.
President Trump’s campaign, and several states, are still litigating the outcome in court.
