One of the Soviet scenarios in the early 80s we in U.S. and NATO Intelligence worried about was something called the Hamburg Grab. What if the Sovs crossed the border and invaded northern Germany just enough to grab the port city of Hamburg and then said that’s all they wanted. Would NATO go to war for the occupation of just one city?

Though if not, and German cities could be taken one by one salami slice-like with no opposition, then NATO was useless and soon would be dead, as any power that is invaded with impunity is already rotting from the inside. And now, on the streets of America, are we looking at the Seattle Grab?

Perhaps another historical example is just as much in order. At the 1938 Munich Conference, British Prime Minister Chamberlain and French Prime Minister Daladier appeased Hitler and his cronies when Hitler threatened war unless he was given a part of Czechoslovakia. They gave in after Hitler promised them he would stop at that section of the country, the Sudetenland. Scant months after the promise the German Fuhrer was in Prague and the whole nation was under his dark grip.

Even before that, two years earlier, a small number of German troops had marched into the Rhineland in violation of the Versailles Treaty that ended WWI. German generals admitted after they lost WWII, during allied interrogation at the Nuremberg trials, that their move into the Rhineland was a bluff. They did it hoping and praying the French, heavily armed and boasting a big Army right across the river, would not stop them. If so, they would had to have beat a hasty retreat. Like at Munich, nobody stopped them and the course was set to war. And so we come again to Seattle.

Here is another armed fascist group deploying a bluff. Just like the Rhineland, a lightly armed force is occupying land not legitimately their own and daring authorities to stop them. Also just like the Rhineland, the mayor of Seattle and also the governor of Washington state, failed presidential candidate Jay Inslee, sit back and do nothing while their territory is overrun and occupied.

Now that Antifa and Soros (call them what you like) made their move and met mush, what will stop them from trying this in a similarly weakly governed city? In fact, they are already setting up the same farce in Portland, Oregon, also home to a cowardly mayor and craven governor. San Francisco, Oakland, Eugene—are they next?

But our scenario has something the Hamburg Grab did and the Rhineland did not: a strong power that could and would stop the bluffing fascists. What Hitler did not face, but Brezhnev did and these classic red toddlers do, is, respectively, Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. Reagan was not the kind of man you could successfully bluff and neither is Trump. Hence his vow last night on television to move in and reclaim the streets of Seattle with the National Guard or federal troops if the mayor or the governor will not act.

Of course, the mayor and the governor may want that, to have a little Kent State to whine about. Because roughed up (or worse) martyrs, assuming the Seattle kids now brandishing rifles know how to fire them, make for better fundraising than a low rent version of the final scenes of “Les Miserables.”
