Partner of the disgraced 44th president, Michelle Obama has decided that the 2016 functioning of the American republic had little to do with ideas or empirical evidence, but was just a personal insult.
She did this in a hagiographic bio on herself, that she and her partner produced, called “Becoming.” Becoming, huh? Gee, becoming sentient, coherent, barely logical? Nope. Likely it’s an inside joke on her current cookies and cream effort to make herself palatable enough to the American people to be considered for high office. It may work in Illinois, but she and Barry are a train that left town long ago.
Oh, yes, back to how she is personally affronted that American voters told her legacy to take a hike: “So, the day I left the White House, and I write about how painful it was to sit on that [inauguration] stage,” she said. “A lot of our folks didn’t vote. It was almost like a slap in the face.” Painful for her perhaps. Joyous for the rest of us.
“I understand the people who voted for Trump. The people who didn’t vote at all, the young people, the women, that’s when you think, man, people think this is a game.” You understand Trump voters? Oh, that’s why you’ve become so much more conservative, eh? Yeah, not so much. By the way Michelle, people did vote in really great numbers. Just not for your girl. Women liked Trump and kids never vote. So, way to plan your electoral strategy.
“Every midterm. Every time Barack didn’t get the Congress he needed, that was because our folks didn’t show up,” she said. “After all that work, they just couldn’t be bothered to vote at all. That’s my trauma.” Such utter bosh.
As we recover from a laughing fit at her self-pity, we remind Michelle once again: People voted, just not for you and your putrid policies, at least at the congressional level and in 2016 in the big game. Ergo, you want to talk traumatic? Well, our presidential trauma ended in January of 2017. If common sense and a good memory has its way at the polls, we won’t return to the trauma with your ascension to any office, much less the oval one.
