Apparently Joe Biden thinks President Trump sucks up to Cuba. He forgot, Joe forgets a lot, his former boss standing on a podium in Havana with a communist dictator. At that event Barack Obama showed more respect to the banner and leaders of a Marxist nation, thus betraying his own political leanings, than he ever did to the flag of the United States. But Biden overlooked that in a bizarre and incoherent statement on Cuba, as he tweeted the following:

“Trump’s international failures have cleared a path for Cuba to join the U.N. Human Rights Council. This would betray Cuba’s political prisoners and further undermine U.S. diplomacy. As President, I will lead by empowering the Cuban people and defending human rights.”

International failures? Just what would those be? Biden doesn’t specify because he doesn’t  have any proof behind his accusation. Or maybe he’s talking about his own party? There, in regards to Cuba, the proof is myriad.

There is the Bay of Pigs, where a Democrat sold out his own sponsored troops to a communist dictatorship. Then the Cuban Missile Crisis, where the same Democrat gave away the store to placate the Russians and Cubans. Then there is the Mariel Boatlift, when another Democrat let the Cuban government and Fidel Castro dump his sewer on our shores. And of course, Obama’s opening up of diplomatic relations with Cuba, only to have them attack our embassy personnel. But Biden somehow thinks his boss was tougher on Cuba than Trump? Thus, in Biden’s head, Trump wants Cuba on a UN human rights council. What the what?

And anyway, the U.S. has nothing to do with the voting of the U.N. Human Rights Council. It’s decided by the General Assembly, which has had an anti-American bias since the 70s. Several GOP U.S. administrations have expressed anger, as nations with horrible human rights records have joined the body.

“Joe Biden can barely remember what office he’s running for, so it’s not surprising he forgot that Cuba was elected three times to the corrupt U.N. Human Rights Council while he was VP,” Trump Senior Advisor Mercedes Schlapp told the media.

“What’s outrageous is that Sleepy Joe wants to return to the failed Obama-Biden Cuba policy, which hurt the Cuban people and helped prop-up Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. Biden has always appeased communists. Just like he sold out Americans to China while Hunter got rich, now he’s selling-out Cubans and Venezuelans to coddle Bernie Sanders and AOC [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez],” she also commented. “This may help with Chavistas in his party, but he’ll lose the election in November.”

She is exactly right. Biden is making an insane play to convince Cuban Americans that he, not Trump, would be a better opponent of Cuban communism. He’s doing this in a hopeless attempt to pick up Florida. But South Florida Cubans, and I grew up in that community personally and politically, have long memories and short fuses.

They remember the broken Democrat promises on Cuban liberation, they remember Obama standing on that podium with Cuban Marxists, and most of all they remember their men dying on a beach after being sold out to Castro by an American Democrat president. So Joe can say all he wants, this Havanese won’t hunt.
